H is for Heralyn
Heralyn... it sucked naming her. I wanted something strong but different. Of course, Hera was already taken so I had to tack onto it. Alas Heralyn was born!
She is my main character and a Draenei Death Knight. I truly love playing her! I thought I would hate melee combat so I went with a caster when I started playing (Lluvy, gnome mage) but once I really got into playing melee I realized I loved it. It can be hard sometimes when you have a huge group of mobs and players around you to keep up with. However, I feel I do alright! I know I could do way better but it takes a lot of time to not only study the class and the spells to get the perfect DPS and rotation, but a LOT of time grinding dungeons and honor points to get the top notch gear.
Sadly I was doing fairly well with gear and my DPS was pretty decent when we canceled our accounts. Now with Cataclysm coming out, I'm gonna be bottom of the totem pole yet again and suck. I have so much reading to catch up on, lists to make of gear I need.... it's like a full time job which sucks because it should be more fun than work.
But I love playing regardless and it's a nice activity that Andur and I can do together when we can't afford a babysitter so we can go out.

G is for The Guild

F is for Farming
No I'm not talking about Farmville you freaks!
Farming in WoW means going out and doing nothing but gathering materials to create items from your profession (or others if you're one to stock up and sell on the auction house).
You're a miner? Ok. You go out and collect as much ore as you can. Every last deposit you find, you harvest.
You're a tailor? You go kill mobs and gather as much material from drops as possible. Then you eat up your gold and gems (if you have them) making items of clothing to sell.
That's farming in a nutshell. It's time consuming and can be boring but sometimes it's a necessity of playing.

D is for Ding & E is for Experience
A twofer today!
DING! That's one of my favorite things to do in WoW and likely explains the numerous characters I have. Running end game stuff is fun but sometimes you just wanna feel like you're really accomplishing something so you jump to a lowbie character and grind to ding the next level. Yep that's all it means. It means completing one level and getting to the next. But how do you do that?
Every mob kill, every quest turned in, every dungeon run gives you experience (or XP as we call it). The lower levels are pretty easy and in an hour (if you have that kind of time to run non-stop) you can get from level 1 to probably 5 in nothing flat. But the higher you go, the longer it takes. Lluvy is stuck at level 74 because of the millions of XP she needs. Not to mention she's hella squishy and dies with just a couple of hits. It took me a total of 11 days over a 4 month period to get Heralyn from level 55 (the level a Death Knight starts at) to 80. And let me tell you, that ding of 80 was soooooooo much better than when I got Lluvy to 70!

D is for Dungeons
I think my absolute favorite dungeon is the Deadmines. I've made many runs with lowbies and think it's hilarious to get a HUGE group of mobs all together and just wail on them one by one.
"HEY YOU! *wack* Haha you're dead!"
The Deadmines are full of pirates. And the last part of the dungeon is on a big boat. It is so awesome!
The Stockades are pretty fun too... especially as a high level character. LOL
My other favorite original dungeon is Uldaman in the Badlands. I love running that one solo!
I don't have too many in Outland that I jump over myself to get into. And many of the Northrend ones are fun but I have yet to see them all!
I still have yet to run all the way to the Lich King. One day I swear I will have Shadowmourne regardless if it's just junk by the time I get it!!

C is for Cataclysm
The next expansion coming out in December that changes EVERYTHING!
Horde get a new Goblin race while the Alliance can channel their inner werewolf with a Worgen. (I sooooo want a worgen!!!) A new profession is introduced that has Andur excited -- Archeology! Level cap is moved to 85. The original zones of Azeroth -- Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms -- get a huge makeover that changes the landscapes forever! New race and class combinations are available, new battlegrounds and raids, and finally.... flying mounts in Azeroth!
While a lot of this sounds exciting, I'm actually pretty sad that Azeroth will never be the same. My favorite areas will be forever changed and I may grow to hate them. From my understanding these changes also void out the old quest lines in some areas. *pout*
While the lore makes this expansion sound amazing, I still have reservations about it. Hopefully I'm proven wrong and it'll be as great as Wrath of the Lich King was.

B is for Burning Crusade
The first expansion. (Sorry for my sleep deprived mistake of saying it was the second expansion!)
With it they introduced new races: Blood Elf for the Horde and Draenei for the Alliance. (My main character Heralyn an 80 Death Knight just happens to be a Draenei.) Level caps were bumped to 70. An entire new continent -- Outland -- awaited excited players. Flying mounts!?! COOL! I loved running the end game stuff with my guild.... when I wasn't dead of course!
Since our accounts aren't active we're missing a fun time of year right now in game: Hallow's End. One of my favorite holidays! So as a treat.... here is my first character Lluvy after defeating the Headless Horseman. Yes she's wearing a pumpkin on her head (thanks to one of my guildies) and is see-through and floating. Gotta love Hallow's End treats!

A is for Add Ons
Since I have more days than letters I figured I could get away with doing more than one post for some letters. Yeah I'm a ninja! Ok so technically I'm a death knight but it's almost the same! LOL
When I started playing WoW I didn't even know what an add on was. I heard my guildies talking about them but had no idea what they did. I eventually ventured out and tried a few here and there (hello Quest Helper!) and now I run quite a few.
I have to say the few I cannot do without are Recount, Omen, Bartender, Titan, and XPerl.
If you're a DPS, I highly suggest you get Recount and Omen. They will save your ass! I became a much better DPSer once I got them (and some kick ass gear.... that is now outdated... damn). The other 3 are just for looks but they make it look so much better and give me more control over the user interface (UI). I love that!
Oh I totally forgot another great one: Stalker! It allows you to mark players of the opposite faction so you know when they are near by. I have several Horde on my KOS (kill on sight) list. Punks!

I met Erin on a parenting website and have enjoyed getting to know her and her family. Our oldest kiddos (both boys) are just 2 days apart in age! We both struggle daily with the special needs (of different kinds) our boys deal with. I want Erin to know that I admire her and her family!

Today we decided to discontinue the Ketogenic diet. After 1 1/2 years, it really hasn't helped Midget much and IMO it's only hurt him. Illness after illness, injury after injury... this kid suffers way too much! :( At least he doesn't mind the seizures any more. (Yeah that would be the tail end of one I walked in on as I was going to put him to bed.)

My friend Danyel of CrazySocks Crochet Shop makes these soap savers and I decided tonight to try my hand at making one. I have this awesome bar of olive oil soap for Peewee that likes to stick to the tub and is very hard to pick up when I drop it. Voila! I made a soap saver! Can't wait to actually try it out during his next bath!

Ever since Midget was a baby, cuddling him helps calm me down. The last few weeks have been very hard on all of us and an extremely difficult decision regarding Midget will have to be made this year. I hate the fact that I need to decide so soon.... but for our entire family, I'm gonna have to.

Daily Positive Thinking
My friend has decided to reinforce her life with positive thinking. Great idea! And not just for her either! *smirk* She's going to post little positive thoughts all around her house. I think it's a cute idea but instead of having post-its everywhere (because lord knows I have enough stuff everywhere *snort*), I figured I'd try to post it in my blog daily. Well maybe not daily, but as often as I remember to... or as often as I like her daily positive thought! *giggle*
Today's positive thought:
"When you surrender and let go of the past, you allow yourself to be fully alive in the moment. Letting go of the past means that you can enjoy the dream that is happening right now."
I honestly need to learn to do this because my past (mostly with Midget's sperm donor) comes back and smacks me every so often. I really, really need to fully let it go but it's so hard when I have to watch my boy suffer and it never. had. to be. this. way!!!! But it's one day at a time right? Today is the first day! One step closer... one step closer... one step closer... that's what I'll keep telling myself.

Goodbye, Keto!!
After nearly 1 1/2 years, the Ketogenic diet is coming to an end. Finally!
Midget had a check up with Neurology today about the diet. After a lot of thinking (mostly on my part), we've decided it just isn't helping him enough to continue on with it.
The goal was to get him off medications and instead we've had to increase some. Not to mention he still has some seizures every day anyways. They aren't hindering him developmentally nor causing him any more damage or pain... no.... as a matter of fact.... my child *laughs* after a seizures. Dork. *snort*
I have a friend whose daughter has way more seizures in a day than Midget. Really I shouldn't complain if he's having half a dozen as compared to 50 or 60. Six is a far better number! (Zero would be even better but that will never happen and I'm ok with that now.)
So over the next few months we will slowly wean him off the KetoCal formula by adding in diluted PediaSure (diluted so he doesn't sail up the growth charts again as his weight is perfect right now) and once he's down far enough to come completely off, we will move him to a blenderized diet (which I'm honestly looking forward to)!
I also asked the team if it was possible that this diet could have played a part in his brittle bones. They said it could be possible so they included measuring his calcium levels through his blood work to see how low they might be. If they are super low, we'll likely have to add in a calcium tablet or something but I won't know about that until next week when they get all his numbers back.
I'm sad to think that poor Midget's life won't be getting any easier by getting rid of his seizures but I also know this is for the better for all of us. I'm at peace with the fact that we've tried the diet and essentially failed. It was the most likely outcome for him and I knew that from the beginning. At least I can say I tried to give him a little piece of normalcy. Can't fault a mama for that!

If they are super low, we'll likely have to add in a calcium tablet or something but I won't know about that until next week when they get all his numbers back.
I'm sad to think that poor Midget's life won't be getting any easier by getting rid of his seizures but I also know this is for the better for all of us. I'm at peace with the fact that we've tried the diet and essentially failed. It was the most likely outcome for him and I knew that from the beginning. At least I can say I tried to give him a little piece of normalcy. Can't fault a mama for that!

Project 365 - Week 2

Itty Bitty had his 2 month check up last Friday and got a bunch of shots. I figured I could cuddle him and make him feel better while taking photos. Course this is the only good shot I got because he wouldn't stop moving. *snort* (If you've been following my blog, you know this is also the start of my Project 52. I won't always have the same picture in both projects but today I am.)

It took me until 11:30 pm to finish it but it's done! Our first dungeon for D&D. I wonder how it will go!? Guess I'll find out starting tomorrow (Sunday).

As I was getting Midget ready for school on Tuesday, I realized (again) just how big he really is! He's got such long, hairy legs it just blows my mind! *snort*

The only thing that physically hurts me worse than my own aliments is watching my children suffer. Today was no exception. Midget had a horrible coughing/choking episode at school that sent us to the ER for a couple of hours.

What a truly horrific day for all of us! We found out today that Midget broke his leg at school yesterday. We still have no idea how but Midget held up tramendously well with all the things the docs had to put him through. He's quite a strong, little trooper! He's been feeling a lot better since his leg was stabilized in the cast. I just hope he heals fast! The first spica cast was a nightmare... I can only imagine how bad this one will be!

4 Generations
Mr Indy's dad and grandpa stopped by today. Of course I saw the opportunity and took it! *grin*

Midget tries going to sleep before leaving for school a lot.... but this day I managed to annoy him awake. *snort*
Itty Bitty had some appointments at Children's last week. It was just him and I that went so I spent a good portion of my time taking photos of him for practice. *grin*
