I tend to make resolutions that I just can't keep. This year I'm making ones I know I'll keep! *grin*
1. Be a better homemaker.
I will keep my house cleaner and decluttered as well as make weekly dinner menus so that I'm cooking more frequently.
2. Read more.
I haven't read much in 2009 so I want to make sure I'm reading at least one book a month.
3. Attempt Project 365.
My camera has been collecting dust, my editing skills are extremely rusty, and I want to capture better memories of my boys' lives.
I am not going to making a resolution to lose weight this year. I never keep it. But I am going to try eating better and getting some exercise in that isn't just cleaning the house. I will not beat myself up if I am not losing weight because that always makes me stop trying.

Ahhh the joys of winter!
Snow.
It's a four letter word.
I. Hate. Snow.
Always have, always will!
A couple of days ago we got about 6 inches throughout the night. Mr Indy got up early the next morning and started shoveling. I joined him after I was awake and found out that Midget's school was having a late start thanks to the white stuff. We got the bottom half of the driveway cleared and started on the sidewalks before Mr Indy had to go to work. My task was to finish the sidewalks.
I didn't realize how hard it would be to do that with a 5 year old and a newborn in the house. Midget was perfectly content but Itty Bitty would start screaming as soon as I walked out the door. *sigh* That made it an all day project. I'd wait until Itty Bitty would drop off and sneak out for 10-15 minutes to shovel as much as I could. I finally got it done around 2 or 3 that afternoon.
Fast forward to yesterday.... the city finally sent the plows through. But they left behind a huge mound of snow BLOCKING our driveway! UGH! I have a van that sits very low to the ground so there was no way I was going to make it over that snow. I had to spend 10 minutes shoveling my side of the driveway just so I could get in.
Don't get me wrong. I actually don't mind the shoveling part. It's a fantastic workout! But when you have a crying 5 week old in the car, it's stressful! I got my side cleared out and pulled in. My mom had just shown up to help me do some baking so we went inside and did all the baking. After we were done, I went and shoveled Mr Indy's side of the driveway and put down a bit of deicer as it was pretty slick.
Last night I decided to take the boys to Quincy and attend a Christmas party at my mom's church. The boys had yet to see Santa and I wanted to catch up with some old friends. After loading the boys in the car, I started to walk around the back of the van to get to my side and slipped on a patch of ice. Oh yeah... I went down. I went down hard! I threw out my entire back, both hips, my neck, and my left shoulder and leg. I feel smashing today! *grimace*
But I must push through all the pain. Once Midget is off to school, I will begin my assualt on the bathrooms. I HAVE to finish my cleaning so I can get my goodie trays made up to deliver tomorrow.

Well...
I've been seriously slacking!
Midget has come out of his cast and completed another 6 weeks of wearing a brace. Yep... it's been 12 weeks since he had his surgery. He's doing remarkably well and is finally cleared to start therapy again (much to his therapist's dismay *snort*). Unfortunately, Midget has been sick for nearly a month now. Started with a cold that turned into the flu that turned into pneumonia and now he's got a cold again. And he so kindly shared it with me! *sniffle*
I am happy to say I'm no longer pregnant! Weeeeee!!
Itty Bitty made his appearance at 11:20 am on November 8. He was definitely an itty bitty weighing in at only 7 pounds, 4 ounces.... over a pound smaller than his brother. But in every other way he was the same... 20 1/2 inches long (Midget was the same) and 13 1/2 inch head circumference (Midget's was 13 5/8 inches). He has a beautiful head of light brown and very blond hair (like salt and pepper) and the most gorgeous blue eyes! We just love him to pieces... yes even when he's throwing a "I don't want to go to sleep" tantrum at 11 at night.
The sad part to his arrival was that he was born very sick. He has congential cytomegalovirus (CMV) which has caused issues with his liver and spleen (that should correct themselves as the virus goes dormant in his system), low platelet counts (which have corrected themselves), and mild hearing loss. He has and will continue to be followed very closely by his pediatrician and the doctors at Children's. He is currently on treatment for the CMV; although it's made a huge difference already, he's still got a fight ahead of him.
Now we are preparing ourselves and the house for Christmas. We have invited our families up for lunch that day and are really, really excited about it.
I hope everyone has a very blessed and merry Christmas this year! We certainly will be celebrating all of our many blessings!

Home!
I don't think I've ever missed Wenatchee more than I did the last week. I'm so glad to finally be home!!
Course.... this now makes for an interesting 5 weeks. I've noticed that Midget seems to sweat like a pig in his cast. Poor kid tends to be dripping wet up and down his back whether he's laying on it or not. *sigh* Hopefully we'll be able to figure something out to help combat that or his cast is going to be really gross, really fast!
I have been getting some smirks out of him the past couple of days. Now if I could just get a full gummy grin and a giggle I'd know he's back to his old self for sure! My goal is to get them by the end of this week! *smirk*
So while we were gone, Mr Indy got his friend Fred over here to help finish putting some shelving up in the garage. Mr Indy wanted a little pantry type shelving unit next to the door and they finished it on Sunday except.... it's not so little. This thing is HUGE and I know it will not be full of food! (But at least now I have somewhere to unpack the games and puzzles. *snort*)
Hmmmm..... what else is going on that I can talk about?
I have been feeling fairly well the last few weeks as long as the heartburn stays away (which it doesn't). Itty Bitty is still swimming around in there but I swear I don't know how he could be. I feel huge and can't imagine there being a whole lot of room left in there. *giggle* I have to go set up my next OB appointment and another ultrasound while I'm out running errands today. *grin* I can't believe I'm almost to weekly appointments... just 2 more before that begins. My due date feels so close yet so far away with everything else going on. *sigh*
Ok so I should probably try to get a few more hours of sleep if I can (not that I think I will). Hopefully the Zac Brown Band will stay out of my head long enough to get another hour or so. *yawn*

Success!
Yesterday Midget had new x-rays of his hip taken. It was 90% out of socket so it was definitely time to fix it. Luckily, today was that day.
The 3 hour surgery went fabulous and the surgeon was very pleased with how it went. They got it all fixed up and it looks great on the x-rays! Midget will be in a cast for 6 weeks but so far is doing tremendously well (part in thanks to the epidural *giggle*).

Growing up is hard to do...
...especially for this Mama!
Last month Midget went in for his 6 month dental check up. Usually the dentist takes a quick gander inside his mouth and sends us on our way. This check up was not quite that easy.
The dentist did a thorough inspection of Midget's mouth. Not only did he find 6 year molars already coming in but he found 5 loose teeth. Yep you read that right... FIVE! The dentist decided to take some x-rays and found some permanent teeth trying to come in which explained the loose teeth and the large gap between 2 of them.
Most kids would probably just get to wait for their teeth to fall out on their own but I was too worried about Midget choking on a tooth if that happened that I questioned the dentist on it. He decided it was best if they were extracted. It took a couple of weeks but we finally got Midget on the schedule and he had the teeth removed last Thursday afternoon.
I think Mommy was more worked up and scared about this than Midget was. At first he wasn't very keen on the gas mask being on his face and tried to keep knocking it off. But once the gas started making him calm down.... the giggles ensued! *snort* (I just had to snap a quick photo but all I had was my camera phone. Bad Mommy not coming prepared!)
Once they numbed him up, the teeth were out within minutes. I couldn't believe how quick it went. Of course, I had to keep Midget's arms pinned down but he did manage to get away from me a couple of times and smack the doc's hands away. *snort* But he was quite the trooper and did awesome! I wished I could have given him some ice cream as a treat for doing so well but the diet won't allow it. *pout*

Crazy busy!
And it's not going to slow down for a while!
First off, we found out a few weeks ago that Itty Bitty is a boy. Everyone is so beyond excited to have another boy join the family! He's quite the little wiggle worm and acrobat! I swear he only sleeps 2 hours a day and the rest of the time he's just in there doing his tricks. I have a feeling I'm going to have my hands really full with this one! *giggle*
We are awaiting the completion of our house. Yep that's right! Mr Indy bought a house and we should be moving in within the next 4 weeks. We're so excited but the packing and cleaning to move out of our apartments is stressing us all out! *LOL*
Then in September Midget has to have hip surgery. After about a week (give or take a few days) in the hospital, he'll come home in a cast and spend about 6 weeks that way. The cast will come off just a couple of weeks before my due date. But the upside is the surgeon says doing the surgery now is better and he shouldn't have to have it again in the future. *grin*
We obviously have a lot going on before the holidays. It will all be worth it in the end! I'm sure of it! (Or at least I'm tricking myself into believing it so I don't go nuts. *snort*)

Surprise!
We're still alive!
Things have been so crazy around here since February.
Midget started school in March and has been doing marvelous. He absolutely LOVES it and has made best buds with the only other boy in the class. He had a rough month in April with many illnesses including strep throat and an infection across his stomach.
Midget's diet is going all right although we've had rough patches with it. He's lost about 10 pounds and is sick at least once a month since starting the diet last August. I've decided to stick it out for now but am teetering on the edge of stopping it.
Mr Indy and I got a huge surprise in April when we found out I'm pregnant. In May, we got an even bigger surprise when we found out that I was a month farther along than we thought. My OB says I'm due any time in November instead of December. However, the ultrasound puts my due date at November 9.
So far the pregnancy hasn't been too bad. However, I do tend to have morning sickness at night. *snort* I've found I can't eat tomatoes and there are a lot of smells that make me nauseous. I absolutely LOVE milk, watermelon, apricots, and nectarines. YUM!
We should be able to find out what sex Itty Bitty is by the end of June and I can't wait!
There is more going on.... nothing bad. It will just have to wait for an update until we know more about what is going to happen.
That's my update for now! Midget is still working a bit of pneumonia out of his lungs and I am battling allergies. So we are having a Harry Potter-athon while we lay around getting better. Time to get back to the Order. *grin*

Achievements
I know many will say this is such a stupid post! "Excited about things you accomplish in an online game... pfft!" But I can't help it!
Since November I've been working on leveling my Death Knight Heralyn. It took me about 10 1/2 days total over the last 4 months to do it but.... I finally did it!
Yesterday she dinged 80! My first character to finally ding 80!
I thought it was exciting when I got Lluvy to 70 but this was soooo much more!
I worked diligently on Hera's exploring achievement during Winter Veil while I was finding the Elders. She managed to explore all of the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor during that time. While questing, she filled out most of Outland and Northrend. So yesterday all she had left was a bit of Hellfire and Storm Peaks along with all of Blade's Edge, Netherstorm, and Borean Tundra.
She finally got her first title! WOOT!
Next on my list... when I'm not running raids or battlegrounds.... is to get my Loremaster achievement and title. I have a LOT to do for that (probably close to a couple thousand quests)! I started running around Stormwind yesterday to pick up low quests. I decided to do the daily battleground (Eye of the Storm... I hate EOTS!). We were getting our butts handed to us until just before the end! With 1 last cap of the flag, we won! Hahaha! I love when we can kick the Horde's butt!
Anyways.... that's my excitment for yesterday. Now I get to clean all day since Midget woke up at 3 AM. *yawn* Too tired to drive means no therapy. Lucky kid! *giggle*

He's a whole hand!!
I still can't believe it! What happened to that little baby that would not sleep unless his mobile was playing non-stop!? Now he's FIVE! *tear*
Midget's birthday was last Monday. Unfortunately, we spent it sick with colds and pretty much slept the whole day away. *snort*
A few weeks ago I found out Playhouse Disney Live was going to be in town. Since we moved across the river, Midget has not gotten to watch any of his favorite PHD shows. So I decided to buy tickets and take him for his birthday present. The show was today and it was super fun!
Proceed with caution... massive photos enclosed!! *grin*
A nice lady across the aisle from us asked if we'd like one of us together... of course I couldn't say no! *grin*
At first, Midget wasn't quite sure about being there. He just sat there listening trying to figure out what was going on.
Then the show started. Of course I kept snapping photos when everyone was blinking... so this was the best shot I got of Mickey... *sigh*
When Midget figured out what was going on.... he just smiled!
The Little Einsteins receiving their invitation to Mickey's music party.
Then it was time for Tigger, Darby, and Pooh to get their invitation in the Hundred Acre Woods.
As soon as Manny hit the stage, Midget got soooo excited that he started smiling and screaming! I knew he loved Handy Manny but that surprised me a bit. (I bought him a stuffed Handy Manny. *giggle*)
During intermission, I decided to buy some cotton candy (which was a total ripoff at $10 a bag but it did come with a hat). I thought the hat would look adorable on Midget... that is until I put it on his head and it fell to his nose! *snort*
What's really sad.... Midget fell asleep at the end of the intermission. *sigh* I tried to wake him up but he just wouldn't have any of it!
That is... until Mickey and his gang from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse came on stage and started singing.
That's when he got overly excited and started "dancing" with them.
All the gang from PHD came on stage for the finale.
When it was all over, I think Midget was confused. He just looked around trying to figure out what was going on again.
All in all, I think we both enjoyed ourselves a lot. I was exhausted having only gotten about 5 hours of sleep and was worried I would be annoyed by it all. But I wasn't. We came home and Midget took a nice long nap. Now it's dinner time. YUM!

All the gang from PHD came on stage for the finale.
When it was all over, I think Midget was confused. He just looked around trying to figure out what was going on again.
All in all, I think we both enjoyed ourselves a lot. I was exhausted having only gotten about 5 hours of sleep and was worried I would be annoyed by it all. But I wasn't. We came home and Midget took a nice long nap. Now it's dinner time. YUM!

Update
It's been a crazy few weeks!
I still haven't gotten too far into the school process for Midget yet. I got sick for a week and have also been awoken between 4 and 5 AM almost every day for the past 2 weeks. I think the lack of sleep is catching up to Midget though (that and the melatonin increase).
Let's see what else.....
Oh yes... oh joy for me! I have to have a root canal. Fun stuff! February 2nd we will be out $2000 but at least I'll still be able to eat and enjoy it!
I wasn't planning on throwing Midget a party this year because I can't afford it nor do I have room to have one here. I might change my mind a bit but haven't decided yet (although I need to soon). The one thing I have decided on is that I will take him to see Playhouse Disney Live as his birthday present. (Just need to order the tickets.) I've been stashing away the child support all year for his birthday so I think I can splurge just a bit to let him see his fave characters again. He hasn't been able to watch any of those shows since we moved to East Wenatchee because I couldn't afford a monthly cable bill any more. I may use whatever is left over from the child support money for a party but we shall see.
Since I've been sick and sleeping less, when I am awake enough to do so I crochet. The week I was sick I made a teddy bear for a friend having her first baby. She loved it and I'm thrilled! *grin* I had so much fun with that one, I'm trying another pattern to see if it'll be any better.
I will be spending the next month planning a baby shower for another friend. I asked her hubby if they knew of one being planned and he said no. I told him I wanted to do it then so I'm really excited that they are excited about it too! *grin*
Ok well it's time for Midget's breakfast and I should get a load of dishes in the dishwasher. Then I think I might sit and watch an episode of Gilmore Girls while working on the teddy bear.

Things change!
So must life and goals!
Starting next week I will begin the process of getting Midget back into school. As soon as 1) his IEP is finalized, 2) a para-pro is hired and trained, and 3) I can find someone to watch him for the hours he's not in school... I will be returning to work full-time.
I don't know how this is going to work but I must make it happen. I cannot lose one of the most important people in my life because my life is tough. Somehow it will happen, this will work, and we will fix everything! It has to!

Done!
The pantry is finally cleaned out and organized. But now my kitchen looks like a tornado went through it. *snort* That will have to wait until tomorrow. I'm beat!

New Year, New Me!
At least I hope I can do it! I want to so I need to try, right? (For a refresher on what I'm talking about, read my Goals post.)
It's now day 5 of the new year and I have not kept up very well. But really since Mr Indy was still on vacation, I give myself a break for the last 4 days. Today starts the madness!! *snort*
I am working on organizing and decluttering the kitchen and living room this week. Since the living room isn't that bad but usually just needs a good tidy, I figured I can do 2 rooms this week.
Today's main task is the pantry. It is a mess and I'm sure there are cans and boxes of food in there that are now expired. I had it organized just a couple of months ago but I let it get away from me. Time to fix it!
Here's my To-Do list for today:
Clean out fridge
Do dishes
Take out trash
Tidy living room
Finish putting yarn in storage container
Wash towels
Clean out pantry
Clean off table
Shovel snow (we got a good few inches last night so I need to shovel out my van!)
And with that, I need to get Midget out of bed and start the madness (after breakfast). Here's to a new year and a new me!!
